Philadelphia | lksomphysiciancareers-temple.icims.com |
Summary of Position:

The Center for Substance Abuse Research (CSAR) at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University invites applications for a tenure track faculty appointment at the level of Assistant Professor to expand our breadth of basic science substance abuse research.
This includes preclinical cell and animal models and/or patient-based research areas.

CSAR has been the cornerstone for research on the biological basis of substance use disorders at LKSOM for the past 25 years. This multidisciplinary center houses highly collaborative, internationally renowned faculty and their laboratories to answer key questions in addiction and addiction-related research spanning the impact of drugs of abuse on the brain and immune system, stress and pain mechanisms, pharmacology of existing and novel analgesics to the identification of potential new therapeutic agents.

CSAR brings together faculty from across the Temple campuses to create a vibrant environment to support innovative research and an enriched training environment. CSAR is home to a long-standing training grant funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA/NIH) that provides mentorship and research training to Ph.D. and MD/PhD students and postdoctoral fellows in addiction research.
A Core Center of Excellence grant from NIDA enhances CSAR's research activities and expertise. CSAR is committed to providing a dynamic and collegial environment with opportunities to collaborate with the new translational and clinical Temple Addiction Research Medicine (T-ARM) Institute.
