National company is expanding and has immediate openings for a Linux System Administrator, located in Houston, Texas. Position could be fully remote, with occasional travel required to company location. As System Administrator you will have the opportunity to be part of the team that brings High Performance Computing networking ASICs to the latest supercomputers. In this role you will be responsible for software installation and updates, as well as monitoring system status to ensuring maximum uptime across various development systems supporting validation of networking ASICs for latest supercomputers.

salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

 •  Debug and fix prototype and emulation system issues as they occur to maximize uptime.
 •  Maintain daily updates of development software stack on systems.
 •  Maintain and improve existing system status reporting infrastructure.
 •  Help debug system issues to isolate root cause of failures.
 •  Build compute node images with latest OS versions and software stack updates.
 •  Help administer compute cluster for system validation team.
 •  Collaborates and communicates with management and internal partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.

Knowledge and Skills:

 •  Experience working servers, networks, filesystems, Linux based operating systems.
 •  Experience with compute clusters desired. (eg. LSF, Slurm)
 •  Scripting ability: Bash, Python
 •  The ability to work well in a cooperative and transparent development environment, both within and across teams.
 •  A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and embrace new challenges.
 •  Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
 •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
 •  Excellent organizational skills and an appetite for learning.

Education and Experience Requirements:

 •  Bachelor's Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
 •  3+ years of experience as a system and/or network administrator

This is an immediate, Full Time position in Houston, Texas. With complete compensation package.
