Shop Foreman/Lead Auto Tech - Hughes Subaru
Our company has an outstanding opportunity for a results-focused Shop Foreman/Lead Automotive Technician. We are looking for an experienced technician who is energetic and has a positive attitude to ensure all of our techs are as successful as they can be.
Our Lead Technician / Shop Foreman needs to lead by example, troubleshoot difficulties encountered by the other techs, and seek out solutions to tough problems. This position is responsible for maintaining workflow and work distribution among technicians as well as repairing, maintaining and servicing vehicles.
Job Description
• Schedule shop work as efficiently as possible in accordance with dealership policy.
• Assign work to the correct technician level
• Maintains a high level of product and technical knowledge through the study of manuals and bulletins, classroom training, communication with factory service representatives and actual hands-on experience
• Repair, maintain and service vehicles
• Provides timely on-the-job assistance to Technicians having trouble diagnosing and/or repairing vehicles
• Ensure that technicians follow warranty procedures
• Administer safety and housekeeping policies and procedures
• Review repair orders turned in by technicians to ensure that assigned work has been completed properly
• Coordinate parts requirements with the Parts Department
• Spot-check repairs to assure quality and timely completion
• Maintain proper training in the operation of service equipment
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
• Reports to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel or customers
• Ensure that all repair orders are accounted for and closed when work is completed
• Performs various administrative tasks as directed by management
• Other duties as required
Qualifications
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Automotive Tech experience required
• Must pass background check and drug screen
• Must have an acceptable driving record
Work Environment/ Physical Demands
• This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of time
• This position requires the ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis
• This position involves repetitive motion
• Lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required
• Frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed
• Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment
• May work in extreme heat or cold
• May encounter hazards
