Duties and Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a highly responsible professional position responsible for providing technical assistance to school districts and consortiums on Level II school principal programs; providing technical assistance to school districts, consortiums and other supporting organizations on evaluation systems for school administrators and instructional personnel; and managing state:sponsored professional learning for educational leaders. The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal:directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions. The employee must interact courteously with others. The employee's performance and behavior must demonstrate consideration of the workload concerns of others and must not negatively affect productivity and morale of the unit. Attendance is an essential function of this position. Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:DUTIES:
  1.  Provides oversight, coordination and direction for the review, approval and monitoring of Level II school principal programs, as required in section 1012.562, F.S.
  2.  Provides technical assistance on continuous improvement of Level II school principal programs and other educational leadership efforts.
  3.  Collaborates with bureau and department staff to plan and coordinate the delivery of department:sponsored professional learning for educational leaders.
  4.  Provides oversight, coordination and direction for the review, approval and monitoring of instructional personnel and school administrator evaluation systems, as required in section 1012.34, F.S., and maintains the bureau tracking system on the status of reviews.
  5.  Assists bureau staff to review, approve and monitor district professional learning systems, professional education competence programs and district add:on programs, as needed.
  6.  Maintains or produces content for department:supported webpages related to the responsibilities of the position including the William Cecil Golden Professional Development for School Leaders.
  7.  Creates and revises technical assistance documents, and other reports, resources and correspondences related to the responsibilities of the position.
  8.  Provides support to school districts and other stakeholders on statutory requirements and best practices related to the Florida Educational Leadership Standards, Level II school principal programs, evaluation systems, and professional learning.
  9.  Coordinates and collaborates with bureau staff and the department in matters related to policy development.
 10.  Manages grants and programs, as assigned.
 11.  Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the program director and/or bureau chief.
 12.  Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Ability to direct both people and statewide programs. Excellent organizational skills. Experience with promotional campaigns. Knowledge and/or experience in using computer systems to collect and disseminate data. Experience in planning and organizing large conferences. Public speaking abilities and fiscal management skills.
