We are offering a unique inhouse opportunity for a Senior Paralegal in Oakland, California. The role primarily involves tasks related to paralegal work in a variety of areas, including health, litigation, and internal investigations. The Senior Paralegal will function with a high degree of autonomy, managing programs, formulating strategies, and administering policies, processes, and resources.
The role also includes overseeing the implementation of new programs and processes and supporting an inhouse legal team.

Responsibilities:

 •  Assist with document collection, review, and production in response to external or internal document demands or requests or in connection with security breach incident responses
 •  Draft and issue litigation holds through programs such as approved
 •  Use early case assessment and supervise document reviews for privilege, responsiveness, "hot documents" and redaction for personal identifying information
 •  Use electronic review platforms
 •  Draft document review protocols and supervise technology assisted reviews for responsiveness
 •  Identify methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs
 •  Draft search terms in connection with reviews and produce documents according to required specifications and formats
 •  Support counsel with transactions in the acquisition, joint ventures process, including tasks such as monitoring and administrating the e-room
 •  Review responses from health organizations as part of the diligence process with summaries to counsel
 •  Manage databases, litigation templates and brief banks and assist the Risk litigation program with various administrative tasks
 •  Conduct advanced research on legal and policy issues with summaries and interact with all levels of staff and external clients in the gathering of information and fact checking.

Skills:

 •  Experience in Ediscovery and Relativity
 •  Ability to Conduct Investigations and Document Production
 •  Knowledge in handling Subpoenas and conducting Legal Research.
 •  Proficiency in Ediscovery and Relativity platforms for legal data management
 •  Ability to conduct comprehensive investigations, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness
 •  Experience in document production, including preparation, review, and management
 •  Familiarity with the process of issuing and responding to subpoenas
 •  Strong skills in legal research, including the use of online databases and legal libraries
 •  Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
 •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 •  Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
 •  Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
 •  Bachelor's degree in Law or a related field
 •  Prior experience in a similar role as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant
 •  Certified Paralegal or equivalent professional certification is preferred
 •  Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
 •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
 •  Respect for confidentiality and ethical boundaries in handling sensitive information.
