Investment Analyst Summer Internship - LMF

Overview:

Lennar is the largest homebuilder in the United States and is the parent company to LMF Commercial (“LMF”). Having several platforms, LMF Commercial (“LMF”) is responsible for originating commercial real estate loans ranging in size from $2-100 million.
LMF securitizes these loans, selling bonds to investors. In 2016 and 2017 LMF ranked as the first in volume as non-lead bank underwriter loan contributors. Over 90% of LMF’s funded loans had initial loan balances under $50 million and approximately 80% of LMF’s funded loans are secured by assets located in non-top 10 MSAs.

Responsibilities:

The Intern Investment Analyst position will be from May/June to August/September. This internship may lead to a future full-time hire.

Interns will be exposed to underwriting commercial real estate as well as the securitization process. Interns will see the securitization process from origination through completion when bonds are sold to investors. LMF Commercial (LMF) is a growing company, and is an excellent opportunity for students to become exposed to Real Estate finance.

 •  Assist in underwriting and performing due diligence of potential and new application returned loans
 •  Financial modeling and data analysis
 •  Perform research on various markets throughout the U.S. and communicating with brokers, in these markets
 •  Ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications:

 •  Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in real estate, accounting, economics, finance, or other related field (preferred from Columbia University or New York University)
 •  Preferred colleges: Columbia, New York or Baruch University
 •  Highly motivated and proven track-record of high achievement
 •  Advanced proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Compensation Overview:

 •  The base compensation for this position is estimated to be $25 per hour, subject to adjustment based on business-related factors including employee qualifications and operational considerations.
