Founded in 1877 a small group of Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Kentucky led by Sister Euphrasia Stafford began their health ministry. Their mission was to provide compassionate care to the poor and underserved – a tradition still carried out today.
Saint Joseph Hospital primarily serves central and eastern Kentucky with a full range of services including distinguished awards for cardiology orthopedics and stroke care. CHI Saint Joseph Health supports 5000 active employees 8 hospitals specialty clinics and a Medical Group with more than 200 locations across Central and Eastern KY.
CommonSpirit Health was formed by the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health in 2019. Responsibilities:
As our CT Tech, you will help capture usable diagnostic images from patients so the Radiologist can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions.
Every day you’ll create cross-section images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. You will also need to enjoy working directly with people as you play a huge role in the patient experience.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to fully understand the importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes knowledge of the general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.
• Perform diagnostic procedures such as computed axial tomography, magnetic resonance, interventional radiology, mammography, sonography, ultrasound, and/or nuclear medicine and PET
• Thorough and accurate imaging technique for patient positioning respective to the imaging order
• Routinely apply sterile techniques and quality safety practices for patients, teammates, and yourself.
• Mechanical aptitude and confidence troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining radiology equipment to avoid equipment failures.
Qualifications:
Required Education
• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Required Licensure and Certification
Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Possess and maintain certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT) within 1 year of employment or transferring into position.
State of Kentucky License required.
• BLS from American Heart Association required upon hire
• Previous experience in CT preferred but not essential for all positions
