General Position Summary:

A Construction Coordinator works on projects in the field closely with the Project Manager and other Construction Coordinators to ensure that our client's project(s) are kept organized and always present the highest level of professionalism that sets our client apart from its competitors.
It requires handling multiple TI project simultaneously.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and major responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

 •  Read, study, and understand blueprints and submittals. A CC should know the project details like the back of their hand.
 •  At the start of a project help PM develop preliminary schedule in MS Project and assist with the development of the final Construction Schedule.

Arrive to assigned location(s) on time and ready to work.

Communicate with PM's let them know when and what projects you are working on.

Complete the New Project Start tasks up by following the start up procedures presented to the CC at the start of every new job.

Install and maintain all construction signs throughout the project.
 •  Create and distribute weekly an excel 3-week schedule while maintaining the final Construction Schedule.
 •  Maintain and distribute a "detailed” Daily Log in ProCore. To be completed and distributed daily with sufficient detail and pictures.
 •  Write RFI's in ProCore and send to PM for distribution. The PM will review and distribute to the architect.
 •  Schedule and coordinate ALL on-site construction related activities with trades and vendors.

Manage subcontractor scope and quality of work while minimizing trade damage.

Take notes and pictures of any trade damage and record in ProCore Daily Log.

Take notes when having discussions in the field with anyone and follow up important discussions with an email confirmation of the conversation.

Manage subcontractor extra work in the field. Confirm with PM before approving.

Collect and report, in the ProCore Daily Log, any subcontractor field extra work tickets.

Keep jobsite clean (walk off mats, vacuum, broom, dustpan)

Keep jobsite safe – follow JPSI'S construction safety guidelines.

Maintain all temporary barricades – keep them tight, clean and in professional appearance. Make sure they are working adequately to keep dust, debris and/or people out.

Attend project OAC meetings if requested by Project Manager. Be prepared with notes and specific topics of discussion.

Maintain a professional demeanor while on site and professional e-mail and daily log correspondence.

Call in required building inspections and ensure subcontractor inspection compliance.

Schedule and complete immediately any punch list items.

At the end of a project, complete the CC project closeout procedure.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, smell; maintain regular and accurate visual perception.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Job Scope:

This position is somewhat routine. Incumbent follows established practices and procedures. Duties are performed with direction given and work is checked or verified on a regular basis. Decisions are made based on what is outlined on each job. Errors in judgement, mishandling of materials, and neglecting safety measures could affect the smooth and efficient completion of assigned jobs.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Construction Coordinators are expected to take on a secondary leadership role on the job site under the supervision of a Project Manager. The person holding this position is not entitled to independently make changes or decisions affecting the outcome of a job without approval from a Project Manager.

Education and/or Experience:

Prior construction supervisory experience

Blueprint Reading Skills

Willingness to learn Microsoft Project, ProCore and other basic Microsoft Office programs
