Summary:
Maintenance Technician needed for a large employer in Gallipolis, Ohio. This position will be under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager and will be accountable for providing support to the plant by means of repair, replacement, and/or removal of equipment of components. Key responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
Follow all rules and procedures.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental practices and preventative measures.
Be able to troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems, hydraulics, robotics, and other components.
Assume responsibility for assigned areas of a project and execute trade skills as required.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Provide accurate reports of work using appropriate maintenance software.
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement and training when scheduled.
This is a full-time, direct-hire position hiring. Availability for first, second, and third shifts is required, though training will occur during first shifts for the first few weeks. Shift availability will be based on seniority of other employees and needs around the facility.
The starting wage for this position is $30.77/hour with comprehensive benefits available.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED
Valid forklift license, valid articulated scissor lift license, and Genie Boom (these can be obtained at GKN).
Knowledge of LEAN tools.
Knowledge of basic problem-solving tools such as Root Cause and 5-why.
Necessary eye and muscular coordination to perform the job and comfort with consistent standing/walking.
Ability to work directly with all levels of the organization and communicate with others.
Skills in operating office equipment and the ability to read/write.
