Zifo is currently hiring! We are searching for a talented Bioinformatics Analyst to join our team. This individual will collaborate closely with our Bioinformatics Consulting team to devise and implement solutions for life sciences customers (Pharma, Biotech, FMCG, etc.) in the OMICS field within the United States and Canada.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Omics Data Analysis:

Perform omics data analysis, from processing raw data to .vcf/generating read/counts/expression profiles.

Perform data normalization, transformation, and statistical bioinformatic analyses as needed.

Perform detailed analyses of genomic, transcriptomic, or proteomic sequences using various bioinformatics tools and techniques.

Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines using workflow management systems such as Nextflow, CWL, WDL, and Snakemake for the systematic analysis of biological data.

Omics Data Engineering:

Possess a good understanding of various omics public databases such as KEGG, Reactome, PDB,etc. and extract relevant information for ingestion and integration.

Contribute to the development of omics data engineering methods, including knowledge graphs.

Build visualizations using power BI/Tableau/Shiny, etc.

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, provide insights, and contribute to research projects and scientific publications.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and data analysis tools/methodologies.
Adaptability and Learning: Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies in the field.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
  2.  4 years of hands-on experience in bioinformatics with a focus on building bioinformatics pipelines. Demonstrated understanding of fundamental concepts in genetics/genomics, molecular and cellular biology, and bioinformatics.

Proficiency in analyzing bioinformatics data such as DNA/RNA/Proteins. Understanding of systems biology tools such as Mol star is a plus.

Strong knowledge and experience in using OMICS databases. Familiarity with OMICS data engineering methods like knowledge graphs or related techniques is a plus.

Solid programming skills in languages such as Nextflow, CWL, WDL, Python, R, or others commonly used in Bioinformatics.

Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Customer centricity to deliver at the highest standards and elevate customer experience.

Proficiency in customer coordination and management is essential for this role to ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction.

Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
