Job Description
The individual will work 16 hours per week (minimum three days per week) and will be
responsible for daily administrative duties that include:
1. 6.1. Respond to brochure and other information materials requests received by email,
telephone, and mail. Prepares information packages for mailing, tracks brochure statistics,
and creates annual statistics report. Submits shipping requests to warehouse and notifies
warehouse and NTIR of any errors and corrections made.
1. 6.2. Telephone oversight: records phone greetings and uses a Voice over Internet
Protocol (VoIP) phone to answer and respond to the office's general phone line and its
voicemail.
1. 6.3. Inventory and stock office supplies: inventories supplies, keeps storage areas
organized, researches items online, and sends inventory re-supply lists and new purchase
requests to staff with purchase authority.
1. 6.4. Office equipment (printers/fax/scanners/postal machine) use and management:
coordinates copier service agreement, inventories and stocks supplies such as mail tapes
and ink, and troubleshoots repairs.
1. 6.5. Coordinate US Government Client (US Government Client), UPS, and FedEx mail for all NTIR Salt
Lake City Office employees: picks up and disseminates incoming mail, stamps and sends
outgoing mail, submits US Government Client package pick-up services, orders free US Government Client mail supplies,
processes incoming and outgoing UPS and FedEx packages including dropping off prestamped packages at UPS/FedEx stores and drop boxes.
1. 6.6. Vehicle oversight: maintains logs for government-owned vehicles, maintains a
vehicle check-out calendar, and collects and mails vehicle receipts to the Santa Fe office.
Schedules appointments and takes vehicles for routine maintenance such as oil changes
and tire rotations.
1. 6.7. Coordinate NTIR's National Parks Passport program: contacts sites for interest in
the program, sends NTIR's Passport Form for new or replacement stamps to sites and

responds to completed forms, maintains a log of all sites currently providing stamps to
visitors, and tracks expiring passport stamps. Informs Chief of Interpretation annually of
expected costs of renewing passports.
1. 6.8. Data entry: updates databases with information/files provided by staff, including
using ArcGIS Online, NP Gallery and the NTIR image inventory to update GIS databases.
1. 6.9. Respond to emails sent to ntir_information@nps.gov: answers questions, fulfills
information requests, coordinates with other employees to answer technical questions,
follows up on requests, and organizes emails.
1. 6.10. Support NTIR's Jr. Ranger Program: sends and receives Jr. Ranger books and
other materials, checks the booklets for completeness, and mails Jr. Ranger items
(including signed certificates) to those who completed the program.
1. 6.11. Upon request, and as workload permits, makes photocopies and scans
documents.
