Overview:

The Vendor Management Office “VMO” Director reports to and will work in close partnership with the Head of IT Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management Office (“SVMO”). The VMO Director role will help to establish the Vendor Management Office that will oversee, drive and cultivate vendor partnerships.

The VMO Director will assist in providing the vision, strategy and direction for the VMO functions. This role requires working with our vendors to ensure that the processes, policies, and procedures are followed. This role is key to improving operational efficiency, compliance, and mitigating risk.

The VMO Director role requires developing and cultivating both internal and external partnerships at the executive level. This requires the ability to both manage up and down regarding communications.

Responsibilities:

 •  Manage all aspects of vendor activity, including but not limited to vendor compliance, engagement, oversight, and performance.
 •  Ensure operational integrity, including compliance with all policies, processes, and procedures.
 •  Develop correction action and quality improvement plans for standards that are not met by vendors.
 •  Effectively manage contract lifecycles and assist in leading our innovative agile sourcing model.
 •  Create, deploy, and oversee software asset management.
 •  Experience with overseeing a managed services vendor.
 •  Conduct monthly meetings, document, discuss and resolve issues as well as monitor completion of action items.
 •  Direct negotiations and draft vendor RFI’s, RFP’s, SOW, and contracts.
 •  Assist with the onboarding, offboarding and transition of new vendors and contractors.
 •  Monitor compliance with all contractual requirements, vendor performance and reporting.
 •  Manage relationships with vendor partners to promote and maintain a best-in-class and innovative partnership.
 •  Lead, mentor, and coach managers and analysts.
 •  Promote career development and manage the performance of the team.
 •  Review, draft, redline, and negotiate a variety of technology-related agreements, including SOW's, POC's, order forms, amendments, etc. while maintaining coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
 •  Ensure compliance criteria are met.
 •  Establish internal vendor governance framework, oversight, and performance strategy including, trending, and reporting on key KPI's to maximize operational value and minimize operational risk. Define and manage cross-supplier performance management and cross-supplier governance structure.
 •  Manage vendor activity to identify and recommend methods to support cost savings, cost avoidance, improved efficiency, or more strategic sourcing.
 •  Successfully respond to compliance audits.
 •  Build, create, and oversee Software Asset Management program.
 •  Excellent understanding of IT protocols and guidelines; ensure that IT minimum standards are applied and properly documented.
 •  Effectively communicate with internal team members and external stakeholders with a keen ability to build stakeholder trust and influence change.
 •  Create breakthrough strategies, which deliver both quick wins and longer-term benefits.

Qualifications:

 •  Bachelor’s degree required. MBA and/or JD preferred.
 •  5+ years of vendor management experience including standing up a Vendor Management program, preferably in the IT field.
 •  Experience with reporting and analyzing data.
 •  Strong Microsoft Office skills preferred, specifically power point and word.
 •  Ability and willingness to learn about the business, its strategy, objectives, and core business processes.
 •  Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
