CHS is an all-girls Catholic college preparatory high school in Manhattan serving nearly 400 young women, most of whom represent economically disadvantaged populations. Our students come from all five New York City boroughs, as well as Long Island and Westchester, and represent 59 nationalities.
The student body is also racially diverse: 54% Hispanic, 27% Black, 11% multiracial, 5% white, and 3% Asian. 75% of our students are first or second-generation Americans. 37% of our students will be the first in their families to graduate from college, and 14% of our students will be the first in their families to graduate from high school.

About the Position
Reporting to the Assistant Principal, the Administrative Assistant for Academics handles all academic and demographic data and supports many functions of the school office. The Administrative Assistant for Academics holds a key position in the health and well-being of the school; therefore, tact and discretion are requirements for the position.
The Administrative Assistant for Academics has a sense of care and concern for the students, teachers, and parents, enabling the principal to process his or her work in the best possible manner. The Administrative Assistant for Academics has access to confidential information, and all such information must be kept confidential.
Responsibilities
Manages all student demographic information and enters all student data into AdminPlus, including all demographic information for new and current students, academic grades, scheduling updates, and course selections.
Oversees and troubleshoots the AdminPlus system for faculty and staff.
Generates reports through AdminPlus as needed, including but not limited to: homeroom lists, class lists, report cards, progress reports, student rosters, faculty and student schedules, verification sheets, and labels.
Manages the relationship with Lower Hudson Regional Information Center (LHRIC): orders New York State Regents answer sheets, enters student data, updates contact information, and completes graduation reports.
Manages the relationship with College Boards: orders PSAT and SAT exams and enters student data.
Executes and summarizes annual student demographic survey.
Supports and/or completes applications for state and federal funding.
In collaboration with the Assistant Principal for Academics, helps coordinate annual class scheduling.
Processes admissions paperwork as needed.
Supports the finance office in following up on outstanding tuition and fees payments.
Supports the finance office in maintaining payment and scholarship data (Student Sponsor Partners, Inner-City Scholarship Fund, and Cathedral High School sponsors).
Produces daily teacher coverages as needed.
Special projects as needed.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Personal commitment to the mission of Cathedral High School and an understanding of and enthusiasm for Catholic teachings, education, and culture
Spanish fluency preferred
Bachelor's degree and office management experience.
Organized and detail-oriented person with a "can-do" style
Excellent time management skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all the school's constituents while maintaining strict confidentiality
Personable, inspiring, and outgoing, comfortable supporting and engaging parents, family members, and students
Highly resourceful and motivated: a "self-starter" with infectious energy and enthusiasm
Ability to maintain the confidentiality and private nature of such information with the utmost good faith, especially as it pertains to student, family, and other proprietary and protected information
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, with an ability to learn the AdminPlus system
The salary range is $45,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience.
