About Our Client

Our client for the US Key Account Manager opportunity is a global manufacturer of highly engineered solutions specializing in films, inks, printing, coatings and specialty materials with 4 divisions. This global company has over 30 locations globally (sales, engineering and R&D, and manufacturing) and making significant investments including a brand new manufacturing plant.
This role for the US Key Account Manager is within the Battery Division and will focus on growing the US region with battery cell manufacturers.

The US Key Account Manager will support the current business while also pursuing new business opportunities with existing and new customers. This person will focus on battery cell manufacturers ranging from startups to middle market. This is a role covering the US region and will require a strong hunter and business development mentality.
This person must be well versed in opening new customer doors and driving relationships with customers. This is a remote role with a preferred location in the Metro Detroit, Michigan area.

Job Description
 •  Conduct needs analysis to uncover customer needs and requirements for solutions with current and potential customers
 •  Maintain regular contact with customers to organization meetings and maintain a strong relationship with engineering, purchasing and other stakeholders
 •  Develop a key account development strategy to proactively stay engaged and informed on current and potential customers' developments
 •  Target new customers and quality new business opportunities by cold calling, attending networking events and activities, attending trade shows and conferences, etc.
 •  Pursue new business wins and applications
 •  Work cross-functionally with project teams and engineering teams
 •  Support business wins and awards to ensure a smooth and successful program launch
 •  Lead customer presentations, product demonstrations and work with decision makers on product selection
 •  Keep track of sales activity in SalesForce CRM system
 •  Conduct pricing and technical information and perform customer follow up communication
 •  Gather market information and competitive advantage information and share across peers in other functions and locations to drive sales and market strategy
 •  Prepare monthly sales reports and forecasts as needed and required

The Successful Applicant
 •  Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering (Engineering Preferred)
 •  Must have high technical aptitude and able to speak knowledgeably on technical applications
 •  7-15 years of experience in sales, account management, business development customer facing roles with technical complex products within manufacturing
 •  Excellent communication and present skills to large and small groups
 •  High sense of urgency and attention to detail
 •  Strong competitive and results driven mentality
 •  Microsoft Suite knowledge
 •  SalesForce CRM is a plus
 •  Strong math and problem solving skills
 •  Trustworthy and strong ethics
 •  Ability to travel up to 50%
