About Baby BOP Programming

The Black Organizing Project’s beloved Baby BOP program is an arts based, leadership program that offers a 2 week summer program, Baby BOP focuses on young people in grades K-6. We view this program as an offering of Black Sanctuary for our community of young people, caregivers and service providers.

At BOP, Black Sanctuary is a radical reality in which our people can exist free of the harms of policing, surveillance, and criminalization. Black Sanctuary looks like schools and communities absent of policing entities, practices and culture.
Black Sanctuary ensures that Black voices and people are heard and valued. It is a vision where Black students, parents, and community are defining and making decisions about the world we live in. Black Sanctuary is what we fight for– A reality and practice where Black people are exercising self-determination, collective accountability and have access to care.

We believe that leadership is a skill that can be acquired no matter how old you are. Baby BOP is a way to build community, affirm young voices and minds & develop young leaders.
