ACARA SOLUTIONS is looking for Forklift Material Handler 1 2nd shift for our Client located in Grand Prairie, TX
Rate: 19.17/hr, Plus 0.60 shift differential on 2nd2nd shift hours are 4pm - 1230am.
This is a temp-to-perm position at a Union Site with 4 months conversion, firm. Excellent benefits and OT available! There is not currently a vaccine mandate at this facility. -Moves freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand, use of forklifts, or other equipment.-Basic computer skills and use of basic mechanical/measuring tools.-Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language.-Must be able to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs, and push/pull/slide heavy material-Must be able to make coordinated movements of the hands and arms to grasp and move objects.-Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, crawl, and climb-Reads transfer orders or receives instructions to determine work assignments and material needs.-Examines contents received or ready for shipment and compares them against documents for accuracy.-Loads, unloads, and stacks materials and products with or without the use of lifting devices (e.g. forklifts, cranes, jacks, etc.).-Moves products, materials, and parts between loading, processing, storage and shipping areas.-Operates material storage equipment, towers, and carousels.-Picks/gathers materials and parts according to transfer/production orders.-Assembles boxes, crates, or other containers according to product or material dimensions.-Packs, seals, and labels, products or materials for shipping.-Weighs materials or products on scales or other measuring devices.-Drives company vehicle to transport parts and materials to and from plant locations.-Annotates on documents and enters information on computer system to receive, route, transfer, confirm, track, and ship materials and products (e.g. transfer orders, return to stock, etc.).-Prepares and prints pertinent documents (e.g. bills of lading, packing lists, delivery notes, etc.)-Attaches identifying tags to finished products or marks them with identifying information.-Communicates with Purchasing department to rectify problems (e.g. damages, shortages, Non-conformance to specifications) dealing with vendors.-Performs forklift serviceability checklist and recharges forklift batteries .-Performs minor assembly as needed.-Cleans and maintains equipment and work area to ensure proper functioning and safe working conditions.-Performs other work as directed by Supervision.-Job involves typically working indoors and outdoors, being assigned to any of the Different shifts, occasionally lifting heavy materials, wearing common safety equipment (e.g. cut resistant-gloves and sleeves, safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc.)-Being exposed to loud noises and the possibility of bumps, cuts, and scrapes.-The following are behaviour"s essential to being successful in this job.-Ability to promote and ensure a safe work environment; identifies, communicates, and eliminates hazards encountered during regular course of work.-Focused on meeting or exceeding the level of excellence of products, services, and work activities-measured against pre-set standards; able to identify flaws and take corrective action.-Willingly assists others by offering guidance, sharing knowledge, teaching skills, or directly performing a task in order to help out.
