The role
We are looking for an Associate Buyer to join our ever growing team in our Los Angeles office! As an Associate Buyer at PLT you're innovative, driven and thrive in a fast-paced environment. You're responsible for driving the success of PLT, this includes constantly reviewing the critical path to ensure that department targets as well as ensuring deliveries are met on time and in line with the brand's strategy.

What you'll be doing
Contributing to product development across category to assist the Buying Manager with range building
Ownership of fit sessions and actioning fit comments direct to suppliers
Negotiating cost prices to achieve best prices and meet department BIM
Understanding open costings including fabric prices, consumption and fit amend implications
Collating the final sign off pack with the support of the JB/Buyer
Attending supplier meetings to develop and source new development as well as reviewing OPO and any production concerns
Management of sample development tracker and chasing in development to meet deadlines
Understanding of the market place, target customer and key competitors
Contributing to weekly trade meetings with suggestions on how to react to department trading
Accountable for checking new in product daily to ensure all details of each product are correct online
Accountable for achieving cost price reductions of 1st time rebuys
Carries out weekly comp shops and supports in collating the comp shop report for management
Generates ideas to support department strategy through product, studio and VM

Previous experience working in fashion buying, either at Assistant Buyer or Associate Buyer level.
You consistently manage your workload effectively, trusted to make actions without prompt
You accept feedback and are willing to adapt personal approach to achieve better communication as well as increased communication with senior management
