Position Summary

The Residential Community Coordinator (RCC) will work creatively to build new and innovative programs that address SFBU’s unique housing operation and diverse student enrollment. SFBU operates a non-traditional university housing operation. Ninety-six beds and 2 condo units are dispersed around and near the university.
Each unit has an in-house laundry unit and a kitchen with appliances. The RCC works closely with the Safety and Emergency Administrator on unit maintenance to provide a conducive environment that supports students' persistence and academic success.
This position reports directly to the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs and coordinates with Facilities Management and other university units.

Key Responsibilities
  1.  Residential Operations and Administration (40%)
 •  Implements campus housing policies and procedures.
 •  Executes departmental processes (move-in, move-out, occupancy checks, room changes, etc.).
 •  Coordinates housing marketing and information supporting student enrollment.
 •  Utilizes online and desktop programs to manage facility work orders, hall occupancy, and resources.
 •  Participates in the Early Alert System and Behavioral Intervention Team/CARE team.
  1.  Student Support and Programming (30%)
 •  Assists in planning and establishing goals to enhance the residential experience.
 •  Responds to individual resident needs and coordinates co-curricular programming.
 •  Provides direct supervision for student Resident Advisor staff.
 •  Facilitates the preparation of students transitioning out of university housing.
 •  Coordinates daily, evening, weekend, and vacation on-call coverage.
  1.  Community Engagement and Leadership Development (20%)
 •  Works closely with Student Affairs in planning and implementation.
 •  Coordinates residence council promoting student leadership.
 •  Supports student engagement and inclusive programming.
  1.  Crisis Management and Compliance (10%)
 •  Adjudicates instances of university violations.
 •  Responds as the first on-campus professional-level contact for crisis intervention and management.
 •  Acts as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the Clery Act and reports Clery Crimes to Campus Operations & Safety immediately.

Minimum Qualifications
 •  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
 •  Two years of experience working on a college or university campus in residence life
 •  Student Conduct/Housing Community Standards experience.
 •  Experience teaching and/or presenting educational workshops.
 •  CPR and first aid certification
 •  Experience working with and supporting diverse populations.
 •  Strong team player, good communicator, and interested in helping students achieve their academic goals.

Additional/Preferred Qualifications
 •  Leadership program development experience.

Due to the nature of the responsibilities, the RCC is required to live on-site at the university’s facilities in Fremont, California. This position enjoys university-provided housing at no cost to the RCC in Fremont, rated the happiest city in the United States!

Salary Dependent Upon Experience: $66,560 - $75,000

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

 •  Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
 •  Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
 •  Ascending or descending ramps and/or stairs using feet and legs
 •  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to students, students’ family members, or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other employees accurately, loudly, or quickly.
 •  Frequently use a telephone.
 •  Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
