We might have your ideal Director of Accounting job, if you have with a knack for establishing and regulating an organization's accounting and finance procedures. This is a position that will make you feel appreciated in your day-to-day work and be rewarded for your efforts.
In this Director of Accounting role, it will be critical for you to take charge of daily operations, such as preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties.

What you get to do every single day:

 •  Oversee accounting staff and operations relating to business operations including revenue, marketing, sales, ticket operations, broadcast and communications, and G& A.
 •  Support month-end and year-end close process.
 •  Assist in coordination of year-end financial statement audit.
 •  Collaborate with department heads on annual budget and quarterly financial review.
 •  Oversee gate revenue recognition and ticketing system reconciliation.
 •  Review sponsorship revenue allocations and trades.
 •  Assist with cash management including daily cash reports, weekly projections, and monthly reconciliation.
 •  Maintain fixed assets registrar and calculate monthly depreciation.

The ideal Director of Accounting candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education. MBA or CPA strongly recommended.

Other requirements for the Director of Accounting position include and are not limited to:

 •  Proven accounting experience at a supervisory level, preferably in the sports industry.
 •  6+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
 •  Detailed knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
 •  Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
 •  Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
