Healthcare Service Advocate

Healthcare Eligibility company seeking highly motivated and nurturing Patient Advocate to assist in screening hospital patients for eligibility programs. Qualified candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills. Preferred candidates should have experience working with governmental programs and be familiar with basic medical terminology.
Must be able to work in the Carrollton, Texas area. Competitive pay and benefits. Bilingual preferred, but not required.

Job Duties:

 •  Adhere to all applicable state and federal regulations with regards to HIPAA compliance.
 •  Advocate for Patient for government services.
 •  Work with external government agencies,
 •  Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
 •  Ability to effectively collaborate and provide excellent customer service with patients, hospital staff, agency workers, management, and co-workers.
 •  Must be self-motivated, dependable, and adaptable.

Additional desired qualifications (not required) include:

 •  Prior Medicaid experience
 •  Prior experience in a medical office or hospital setting
 •  Prior Insurance Verification experience
 •  Prior experience working with hospital systems (i.e. EPIC, Cerner, Citrix)

Qualifications:

 •  High School diploma or GED. (Some college preferred, but not required)
 •  Prior hospital experience 1+ years. (Preferred but not required.)
 •  Experience working State and Federal programs.
 •  Valid driver’s license
 •  Must have reliable transportation and provide proof of insurance.
 •  Pass background check & drug screening.
 •  Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
 •  Minimum 2 years customer service experience, preferably in healthcare setting or similar industry.
 •  Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
 •  Basic knowledge and use of office equipment such as: phone, fax, computer, and email.
