Research Associate / Associate Scientist - Single Cell NGS Sequencing Lab

About the Opportunity

SeqMatic has multiple Research Associate positions open to join our RNA sequencing services team. The position requires a strong background in molecular biology, particularly nucleic acid purification and NGS / Omics workflows. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 •  Sample accessioning using LIMS;
 •  Extract RNA from cells and tissues using manual and automated protocols;
 •  Prepare sequencing libraries from RNA;
 •  Operate Illumina sequencing instruments and other common laboratory equipment such as thermocyclers, qPCR machines, and benchtop centrifuges;
 •  Organize and maintain detailed experimental records and follow lab procedures;
 •  Communicate in person and electronically with customers and team members

Qualification Requirements:

 •  Bachelor's degree in biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or a related science;
 •  2+ years of hands-on experience with RNA extractions using manual and automated methods (Promega, Qiagen, Zymo, etc.) required;
 •  2+ years of hands-on experience of Next Generation Sequencing library preparation (Stranded mRNA, Stranded Total RNA, etc.) required;
 •  Must be highly detail-oriented and have strong lab and analytical skills;
 •  Experience working in clinical lab setting is preferred but not required;
 •  Solid English language communication skills;
 •  Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines; accommodate a flexible schedule to support the workload;
 •  Ability to work independently and with a team;
 •  US Citizen or Green Card
