Job Description:
Providing our Customers with products they love is a big job, and our 12.1 million square feet of warehousing helps make that possible. Our Warehouse and Transportation Partners are key to helping stock H-E-B Stores and keeping our supply chain moving all over Texas and Mexico.
As a Team Leader II for H-E-B Warehouse or Transportation, you'll apply advanced technical knowledge of all operational areas. You'll lead a team of hourly Partners and coach and lead entry-level Team Partners.
Once you're eligible, you'll become an Owner in the company, so we're looking for commitment, hard work, and focus on quality and Customer service. • a degree or related experience
What is the work?
Management / Operations:
• Spends majority of time using independent judgment making employment-related business decisions, or effectively recommending such decisions (e.g., product- and department-related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding, or otherwise engaging in resolving Partner-related matters)
• Provides daily supervision and support for an assigned group of hourly Partners, typically in a more complex operational facility area; maintains an environment where Partners trust and respect the Leader and work together as a team to accomplish goals and objectives
• Contributes to Division strategic projects / priorities by applying knowledge and experience to recommend solutions based on best practices
• Actively identifies opportunities to improve processes and achieve excellent business results
• Mentors Associate Team Leaders and new Team Leaders
• Communicates tactical and strategic plans and initiatives to effectively gain Partner cooperation
• Provides input on staffing levels; monitors / adjusts labor requirements to balance staffing levels and overtime costs while meeting daily receiving, shipping schedules
• Actively participates in division initiatives and project teams as assigned
• Handles critical tactical issues independently with little to no supervision
• Performs all Team Leader I duties with little or no supervision
What is your background?
• Bachelor's degree or
• 3+ years of related experience
• Experience in presentations
• Successful completion of Leadership & Development classes as assigned
Do you have what it takes to be a fit as a Team Leader II for H-E-B Warehouse / Transportation?
• Advanced working knowledge of operations of departmental programs, of the industry and related EEOC and employment laws, and assigned department level reports
• Advanced organization and time management skills
• Advanced verbal / written communication skills
• Advanced analytical and project management skills
• Advanced negotiating and influencing skills
• Intermediate skills in internal / external software and systems
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks; attention to detail
Can you...
• Function in a fast-paced distribution center and office environment
• Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
• Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Work in multiple temperature zones
• Safely maneuver facility in compliance with OSHA regulations
