Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a nursing home in Willows, CA to find a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled PTA to join a team focused on improving the functional mobility and independence of residents in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents.
Assist patients with a variety of therapeutic exercises to improve strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance.
Educate residents and their families on safe exercise techniques and home programs.
Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
Document progress notes accurately and efficiently.
Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Active California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license.
Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting (preferred).
Strong working knowledge of physical therapy principles and techniques.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to document effectively.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience treating geriatric patients.
LSVT BIG certified (or willingness to obtain certification).
Strong understanding of balance and gait training.
