The Nursing Shift Manager (NSM) is a professional Registered Nurse who assumes management responsibility for the Unit during a shift. The NSM is to assure unit activities and support safe quality patient care. The NSM is to monitor staff performance, assessing patient care outcomes and documentation, meet physician needs, and counsel/coach staff as needed.
