Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer, you will be a vital team member of the digital Product Solutions team focused on developing data driven products and analytics to drive new product development, and service offerings. You will work closely with other teams to develop scalable and innovative analytical solutions, processes across structured and unstructured data, enabling the team to build successful, data-driven strategies.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing analytical projects using third-party and in-house tools and using Python, Scala, or SQL to build new product solutions from the ground up. You will design and implement complex data models, model metadata, build reports and dashboards, and develop data integrations with both other Baker Tilly systems and 3^rd party data providers.
You will work with leading edge technologies like Redshift, DBT, BigQuery, Azure Synapse Analytics, PowerBI/Tableau, and more. You will write scalable, highly tuned SQL queries running over various types of data and will develop learning and education programs to drive adoption of data driven decision making across the organization.

Responsibilities
 •  Contribute to day-to-day sprint activities in the development of new business logic and data transformation required to support application products.
 •  Design, build and implement data engineering pipelines for analytics projects.
 •  Perform data analysis and profiling as input to data discovery and solutioning for new products.
 •  Deploy and use various big data and advanced analytics technologies and run pilots to validate product assumptions and feasibility.
 •  Contribute to solution architecture and design providing recommendations based on data analysis, business needs, and technical requirements.
 •  Utilize team feedback and metrics (e.g., quality, delivery, cadence, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and work with team to continuously improve.

Qualifications:

 •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or 5+ years relevant experience.
 •  Expert level skills writing and optimizing complex SQL.
 •  Experience with complex data modelling, ETL design, and using large databases in a business environment.
 •  Experience with languages like Python, Ruby, SAS, R, or similar languages.
 •  Conveys complex and technical business issues to diverse audiences and projects.
 •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
 •  Proven data visualization and exploratory data analysis.
 •  Proven problem-solving skills.
 •  Ability to develop unconventional solutions; Sees opportunities to innovate and leads the way.
 •  Attention to detail along with a commitment to quality and confidentiality.
 •  Ability to work with shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
