Champion Patient Safety: Manager of Risk and Patient Safety (Level I Children's Hospital, Philadelphia, PA)

Trusted Staffe is partnering with a leading Level I Children's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA to find a passionate and experienced Manager of Risk and Patient Safety to join their dedicated team! In this pivotal leadership role, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding patient care and fostering a culture of safety within the hospital.

About the Opportunity:

As Manager of Risk and Patient Safety, you'll be responsible for leading and overseeing both the Risk Management and Patient Safety programs. You'll leverage your expertise to identify and mitigate risks, develop proactive safety initiatives, and ensure continuous improvement in patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Management:

Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for loss prevention across the hospital.

Identify, analyze, and manage potential risks, including general liability and healthcare professional liability claims.

Oversee incident reporting systems and investigate all reported events.

Develop and manage risk mitigation plans and action plans.

Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance in risk management practices.

Patient Safety:

Champion a culture of safety and high reliability throughout the hospital.

Lead patient safety improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and trend identification.

Oversee all safety event reports, investigations, analyses, action plans, and follow-up.

Collaborate with hospital leadership, departments, and staff to implement safety best practices.

Monitor safety trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Develop educational programs to promote patient safety awareness among staff.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.

Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
  3.  5 years of experience in Risk Management, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  3.  5 years of acute care clinical nursing experience is highly desirable.

Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.

Certified in Risk Management (CRM) or Certified Patient Safety Officer (CPSO) is a plus.

Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare information systems.

Passion for patient safety and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
