Director of Accounting
We are seeking a Director of Accounting and Operations in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to join our team in the arts industry. You will work closely with the CEO, managing a range of accounting and human resources duties. This role will require a keen understanding of financial reporting and stewardship advisory to grow the business.
Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Reconcile cash, bank accounts, and revenues
• Maintain an accurate general ledger, making adjustments as needed
• Create journal entries for all accounts, including fixed assets
• Monitor the business' cash flow
• Issue invoices to and collect payments from customers
• Prepare tax returns and monthly and quarterly financial statements
• Collect information for auditing purposes
• Handle onboarding and benefits administration/reconciliation
• Administer workers compensation and respond to basic employee inquiries and requests
• Utilize Accounting Software Systems, including QuickBooks, for various accounting tasks
• Engage in month-end close processes and prepare financial statements
• Ensure employee engagement through effective benefits administration.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the field of accounting or related area
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
• Prior experience working with medium size family business
• Knowledge of Budget Processes and Financial Reporting is required
• Familiarity with QuickBooks software
• Ability to prepare Financial Statements
• Experience in Month End Close processes
• Experience in Onboarding and Benefits Administration
• Proven track record of Employee Engagement initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Strong interpersonal and team building skills; ability to work with a diverse team and influence/drive change across functional and business boundaries.
