About the Role

As the Director of Ecommerce, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive ecommerce strategies to maximize online sales, enhance brand visibility, and optimize customer engagement. This role will oversee all aspects of the ecommerce operations, including site merchandising, customer experience (UI/UX), front-end development and website management and operations.
We are looking for someone with a creative and analytical mindset, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the apparel industry and ecommerce trends. The role reports to the Chief Marketing Officer.

Responsibilities
 •  Develop and implement strategic ecommerce plans to drive growth and achieve revenue targets.
 •  Aggressively manage product assortments and site merchandising strategies at PDP, PLP and navigational levels.
 •  Collaborate with the product and inventory management teams on site merchandising strategies and results.
 •  Apply data-driven analytical problem-solving expertise and project management skills to drive ‘end-to-end’ ownership of digital experiences, leveraging product data, customer analytics and more.
 •  Partner with the data science team to analyze data related to customer interactions with products and other site content, with the overall goal of unlocking insights that improve funnel metrics (e.g., conversion rate, bounce rate, add to cart, etc.).
 •  Implement a comprehensive CRO A/B testing strategy in partnership with Data Science, Growth Marketing and Brand Marketing that drives incremental conversion and profit.
 •  Lead efforts to enhance the ecommerce functionality throughout the checkout journey including the shopping cart, shipping selection, payment processing, and product search capabilities.
 •  Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of our websites to ensure a seamless and user-friendly shopping experience.
 •  Analyze website performance metrics, user behavior, and conversion rates to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize the customer journey and drive sales.
 •  Collaborate with the Brand and Growth Marketing teams to maintain a mobile-first attractive and user friendly website design, with a focus on navigation and user interface.
 •  Continuously improve the online shopping experience through site enhancements, personalized recommendations, and customer feedback analysis.
 •  Evaluate and implement technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance user experience, functionality, and performance.
 •  Implement and optimize SEO and SEM strategies to increase website visibility and attract organic and paid traffic.
 •  Manage relationships with external vendors, agencies, and technology partners to support ecommerce operations and drive innovation as needed.
 •  Build, develop, and lead a team of website professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Requirements
 •  7+ years in website operations, ecommerce, or digital marketing, preferably with experience in a high-growth startup environment in retail and apparel.
 •  Proven track record of leading successful website initiatives, driving growth, and improving user experience.
 •  Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a diverse team.
 •  Deep understanding of site merchandising strategies.
 •  Deep understanding of UX/UI best practices, web technologies, SEO/SEM and ecommerce platforms.
 •  Experience with site merchandising tools like Kimonix and A/B testing tools like Intelligems a plus.
 •  Proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), CMS platforms, and CRM systems.
 •  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.

Physical Demands
 •  While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk and hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person, over the telephone, and/or via video conference.

Emotional Demands
 •  Confident decision-making skills. You will need to review data and make sound decisions on what actions to take and make confident recommendations to senior management. You may need to make decisions quickly with limited amounts of information in urgent situations.
 •  Data analysis & interpretation. You will have to process and review a lot of information from a variety of sources, understand how data is collected, assess data quality, and how to use the information.
 •  Communication skills. You need to have advanced communication skills in both oral and written form. Emails and written communication with colleagues and external partners, written reports for senior executives. Able to communicate complex financial information to people outside of the finance department.
 •  Comfortable with technology. Able to navigate data through computers, mobile, software, databases. Stay up to date with technology advances.
 •  Oriented to detail. Financial forecasts rely on projections which can be impacted by even minor changes in sales patterns, consumer sentiment, economic shifts, competitor changes, etc. You will need to be attuned to small changes in all streams of data.
