Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support our data-driven initiatives. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect data solutions, and ensure data quality and reliability.
You will also mentor junior team members and provide technical leadership in the development and implementation of best practices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.

Architect and implement data models and schemas to support analytical and reporting needs.

Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and implement solutions to support data-driven decision-making.

Optimize and tune database queries and data processing workflows for performance and efficiency.

Implement and maintain data governance and security measures to ensure data privacy and compliance with regulations.

Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and frameworks to enhance our data infrastructure and capabilities.

Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and support in the design and implementation of data solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.

Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing activities to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and contribute to the evolution of our data platform and architecture.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

5 years of experience in data engineering or related roles, with a strong background in designing and implementing data pipelines and infrastructure.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.

Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational and non-relational databases.

Experience with data modeling, ETL tools, and workflow orchestration frameworks.

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Proven track record of delivering high-quality data solutions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts.

Experience with streaming data processing and real-time analytics.

Certification in cloud platforms and/or data engineering technologies.
