Controller
We have an exciting opportunity for a Controller in North Houston to join an equipment dealership company! This role is an integral part of the accounting operations across multiple profit centers within the organization. The individual will manage accounting processes, prepare financial statements, develop internal controls, and monitor financial reports to reduce costs.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes
• Prepare financial statements for accurate record-keeping and decision making
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and prepare reports to facilitate strategic decision making
• Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to preserve company assets
• Monitor financial reports and identify opportunities to reduce costs
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Align Accounting strategy with the overall goals of the organization
• Manage accounts payable functions and ensure timely payments
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records
• Utilize skills in Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes, Asset Inventory, and Cost Accounting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication skills and team-player attitude
• CPA preferred, not required.
