Sr. Project Engineer

Full Time (M-F)
$105K - $120K
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Safety - Manages all project sites and contractors by OSHA guidelines. Coordinates all activity at the job sites with local management and safety managers. Ensures that all contractors have a current signed, site specific, safety-package on file for the job site.
• Maintains projects budgets and schedules under changing circumstances. Documents, justifies and approves all change orders.
• Assists Director of Operations in developing both a short term and a long term capital budget.
• Solicits three competitive bids received for goods and services. Ensures that the correct equipment is purchased for application. Ensures equipment meets performance specification. Makes sure that the contractors provide competitive bids for defined scope of work.
• Provides a scope of work that clearly defines and documents all project expectations to prospective bidders. Provides and documents the resolution of all questions to all bidders.
• Uses engineering expertise to identify, document and implement cost savings/profit-enhancing improvements that can be implemented on the local level with or (preferably) without the need for capital investment.
• Trains project managers, project manager trainees, construction managers, construction superintendents, etc. in the proper project management techniques.
• Occasionally will need to manage projects on weekend plan shutdowns.
