Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
Location: York, PA
Employment Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday with weekend rotation

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is currently seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our partner, a reputable skilled nursing facility located in York, PA. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality rehabilitative care to patients, assisting them in their journey toward recovery and improved mobility.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals.

Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional training, and activities of daily living to promote mobility, strength, and independence.

Monitor and record patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercises and activities to facilitate continued progress outside of therapy sessions.

Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists, to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive treatment.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.

Adhere to ethical and professional standards of conduct, respecting patient confidentiality and promoting a safe and supportive environment for rehabilitation.

Qualifications:

Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Pennsylvania.

CPR certification (BLS) preferred.

Prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.

Demonstrated proficiency in therapeutic techniques and modalities commonly used in physical therapy.

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work independently within a team-oriented environment.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on best practices in physical therapy.
