Part Time Accounts Receivable Specialist

Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is seeking a detail-focused Credit Clerk to join our team based in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the accurate processing of customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving customer credit inquiries.
This role is also tasked with monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate actions on delinquent payments.

Responsibilities:

 •  Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency
 •  Maintain up-to-date customer credit records
 •  Perform daily postings of payments received via check, ACH, and credit card to customer accounts
 •  Process credit card payments while maintaining credit card security
 •  Prepare accounts receivable aging reports, monitor customer balances and set credit limits
 •  Maintain customer relationships, including contacting customers with past due accounts and responding to inquiries
 •  Print and mail customer invoices twice a week and customer statements monthly
 •  Process customer refunds, invoice copies, and provide other services as requested
 •  Answer incoming accounts receivable calls and provide information in response to inquiries
 •  Manage special payment agreements between customers
 •  Support customer service and inventory departments as needed
 •  Prepare quarterly reports and assist in the completion of the payment process
 •  Provide backup for account payable employee and assist in periodic front desk/reception area coverage.

Skills:

 •  Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable (AR), Billing, Cash Applications, Cash Collections, Microsoft Excel, SAP
 •  Knowledge of generally accepted office practices, procedures, and equipment
 •  Ability to operate standard office equipment including copier, scanner, postage machine, printers, and 10-key by touch
 •  Basic math skills including account reconciliation and balancing
 •  Ability to read and understand written and verbal communication.

 •  Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions
 •  Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
 •  Knowledge of standard accounting principles and procedures
 •  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is an advantage.
