NaturalPoint is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop new products, as well as help maintain our current set of products.
Core Responsibilities:
• Interface with engineering and application engineers to define product specifications
• Interface with Hardware, Electrical, and other Mechanical engineers to achieve product goals
• Research and select components to meet product specifications and requirements
• Research and create proof of concept and perform modeling/CAD analysis and prototype development
• Work with vendors on new components / services and 1st article approvals
• Design, perform, and monitor tests, document outcomes, and confirm design requirements
• Solve technical design and manufacturability problems of mechanical assemblies and systems
• Interact with and give guidance to production for assembly / testing
• Support product design with CAD designs and drawings
• Learn about legacy products and assist production, support, and sales
Requirements
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required
• Electronics, optics and mechanical designs and assemblies
• Manufacturing - CNC machining, plastic injection molding, sheet metal, SMT, additive/3D printing
• SolidWorks CAD, PDM and FEA simulation
• Interactive ECAD / MCAD design, SolidWorks CircuitWorks preferred
• Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M and/or Y14.41
Bonus Points For:
• Experience operating 3D printer, laser, Vision Measuring Machine, CMM
• SolidWorks Certifications
• Hand soldering experience
• Machining experience
