Consumer use cases supported range from the basic debit programs (DDA account with a Debit Card) to pay-day advances, personal lines, loans, and secured credit cards. Corporate use cases are currently focused on DDA accounts with Debit cards plus real-time access to all payment rails (standard ACH, Same Day ACH, FedWire, RTP, SWIFT), card issuing and acquiring capabilities, compliance services, and white-labeled web & mobile apps.
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Compliance Officer to ensure our fintech BaaS operations comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance policies, procedures, and controls, as well as monitoring and assessing regulatory risks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fintech and banking regulations, excellent communications skills, and a proactive approach to compliance management.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations and industry trends affecting fintech BaaS operations, and ensure that the company's program reflects these changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Legal, Product, and Operations, to ensure compliance requirements are integrated into business processes and product development.
• Provide compliance training and guidance to team members on regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor and investigate compliance-related issues, incidents, and complaints, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to address them effectively.
• Manage relationships with regulatory agencies and external auditors, and coordinate regulatory examinations and inquiries.
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures as required by applicable laws and regulations.
• Participate in the development and implementation of new fintech BaaS Products and services, ensuring compliance considerations are incorporated from the outset.
• Act as a subject matter expert on compliance matters, providing advice and guidance to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Requirements
About You:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, or related field; advanced degree of professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CRCM, CFE) preferred.
• Embedded Banking experience, has worked with a Bank that ran a BaaS or embedded banking program, Fintech experience/oversight for banking projects.
• Strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and payment regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate compliance risks effectively.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
