The World-Wide Technology Deployment (WWTD) team is looking for an experienced Vendor Manager to help develop and own vendor relationships associated with the deployment of robotics and automation technology. This person will assess both new and existing vendors which provide technology, staffing, and services related to deployment projects.
They will review deployment projects vendor requirements and write strategies to successfully scale the vendors abilities to guide future deployment work. This is a global role managing vendors across North America, UK and EU, and APAC. The candidate will be expected to work with cross-organization teams to collect training/business requirements and work with external vendors for global scalability.
We are seeking a candidate with a broad skill-set which demonstrates strong vendor management and negotiation skills, implements cost models to drive improvements, and excellent business judgement based on data.

This position requires 50% travel including international travel. Valid US drivers license required.

Key job responsibilities
 •  Negotiation capability is a key functional skill for this role. The Vendor Manager works to improve terms and cost structures, building long-term relationships and engaging vendor participation in WWTD programs.
 •  Strive for long term growth opportunities and risk identification, planning, communication and partnering with vendors and internal teams.
 •  Manages inputs, category financials, promotion management, auditing, vendor escalations and concise communications. Financial Acumen is a key functional skill for this role.
 •  Demonstrates customer and category knowledge, be an advocate for a quality customer experience, and knowledge of the industry.
 •  Creates and manages contracts, prioritizes vendor resources, and educates vendors on deployment program opportunities.
 •  Manages payment terms and cost structures, takes calculated risks when driving negotiations, raises the bar on vendor inputs, performance, and outputs.
 •  Expands current vendor selection and influences vendors on lowering costs, improving services, reducing defects, and driving efficiencies.
 •  Works both alone and in a group-setting, anticipates follow-up questions and replies with data.
 •  Drives long-term vendor strategies to support deployment business needs.
 •  Excellent communication, both verbal and written as you will be required to write contracts, status reports, management report-outs and update WBR/MBR/QBR documentation.

A day in the life

As a vendor manager, you are responsible for vendor contracts compliance, plan of record & ad-hoc allocation strategy, request for quotes/Proposal analysis & award project, negotiations, field escalations, and New Product Integration (NPI) readiness.
You will take a lead role in cross-organization goals to ensure vendor availability and readiness to support deployment business needs. You will be responsible for cross-org vendor leadership and Sr. level leadership communication as well as create status reports, leadership report-out, update WBR/MBR/QBR documentation.
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will closely work with deployment teams to understand business needs and diversify vendor selection to reduce risk and influence vendors on lowering costs, improving services, reducing defects, and driving efficiencies.
You are responsible for executing overall vendor readiness prior to deployment start and remove any blockers or resolve any escalations. You collaborate with cross-org teams to remove manual processes and implement long-term tracking mechanisms.

Arlington, VA, USA | North Reading, MA, USA- 3+ years of program or project management experience
 •  3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
 •  Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
 •  Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
 •  Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
 •  3+ years of driving process improvements experience
 •  Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
 •  Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
