About the Project: The NATO FORACS Project Mission is to provide NATO maritime forces with the opportunity to undergo comprehensive calibration of sensor, weapon, combat, communication, and navigation systems to clearly define accuracy and performance standards.
The project operates under the umbrella of major underwater testing for a major company. The FORACS Electronics Engineer is responsible for supporting underwater testing.

Electronics Engineer - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)

The Electronics Engineer installs, operates, and maintains FORACS test support systems and equipment in a real-time environment.

Perform standardized or prescribed assignments related to shipboard sensor accuracy testing.

Develop procedures and operational plans to meet evolving or new test objectives.

The Electronics Engineer troubleshoots and performs corrective maintenance on equipment and systems.

Prepare required test support documentation, operate test support equipment, and record test data.

Report deviations resulting from equipment malfunction or observational errors.

Support engineering changes, prepare documentation, perform equipment modifications, and install and test new equipment.

Perform control system set-up, operations, fault isolation, and repair of computer-controlled and embedded computer devices.

Conduct special studies and prepare technical reports regarding equipment performance and improvement.

Manage organizational assets, including inventory and configuration control.

Develop specifications for new equipment, generate requirement documents, and analyze quotes against requirements.

The Electronics Engineer attends project-level meetings as the Control Systems expert and participate in NATO FORACS gap studies.

Electronics Engineer - REQUIREMENTS

Must have 2-3 years of experience in radar/acoustic systems testing.

Bachelor's Degree in electronics engineering, ocean engineering, or related field.

Must have/maintain a valid Driver's License and US Passport within 30 days.

Familiarity with naval shipboard operations, U.S. Navy surface ship, submarine, and helicopter navigation and target sensor systems.

Knowledge of acoustics theory, RF propagation theory, GPS tracking systems, and computer networking.

Experience operating within ISO 9001 QMS or Lean systems, Inventory/Asset Control, and software/hardware integration.

Proficiency in Matlab or similar advanced data analysis software.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
