As a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients who require intermediate-level monitoring and treatment. Job Details:
13 week assignment
12 hour night shift
Weekly gross $2,448
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and implementing prescribed treatment plans in accordance with physician orders.
Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' conditions and continuously monitor their progress, promptly identifying any changes or deterioration.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with legal and hospital regulations.
Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust patient care plans, making evidence-based decisions to optimize patient outcomes.
Education: Educate patients and their families on the plan of care, medications, and any necessary lifestyle modifications. Offer emotional support and answer questions to alleviate concerns.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain specialized equipment used in the PCU, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps, ensuring patient safety and accuracy.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiate emergency protocols when necessary, and provide life-saving interventions as required.
Quality Assurance: Adhere to hospital policies, quality standards, and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety and the highest level of care.
Professional Development: Stay current with the latest advancements in nursing practice, attending continuing education programs and training sessions as required.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team, patients, and their families, ensuring a collaborative and compassionate care environment.
Qualifications:
Valid RN license in state of practice and current BLS certification.
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a progressive care unit or a related critical care setting.
ACLS certification is highly desirable.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
