Responsibilities:
Work closely with physical therapists to implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals.
Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in mobility, strength, and functional ability.
Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques to promote recovery and prevent future injury.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice, demonstrating compassion, empathy, and respect for patients at all times.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Washington.
CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Physical Therapy Assistant, preferably in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Demonstrated knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, and modalities.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
Flexibility to adapt to changing patient caseloads and clinical priorities.
Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with best practices in physical therapy.
