Support the mechanical design for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies.
Support customized test fixture design using inputs and requirements from the design and test team, as necessary.
Assemble first article parts and systems, check for fit/function/form, and train technicians in system assembly.
Document bill of materials (BOM), fabrication and assembly drawings for production using industry standard PDM/PLM tools.
Respond to department requests for customer and marketing support documentation.
Requirements
5+ years of Mechanical Engineering design experience required; consumer electronics industry environment preferred.
5+ years direct experience and fluency with 3D CAD in SolidWorks.
Experience with PDM usage in SolidWorks PDM.
Experience in the design and manufacturing for PCB assemblies (knowledge of materials, processes, interconnect technologies, thermals, and RF shield design).
Experience with mechanical design of RF enclosures, including designing and testing cooling/EMI solutions at the system-level.
Experience in creating, reviewing, and maintaining engineering drawings and revisions.
Experience designing parts for both additive and subtractive manufacturing for low- and mid-volume (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining, urethane casting, soft-tooling, etc.).
Experience designing and supporting injection-molded, die-cast, and sheet-metal parts for high-volume consumer electronics applications.
Hands-on shop skills required (shop hand/power tool use required, basic machinery operating skills preferred).
Excellent organizational skills for documentation and ensuring that all work and knowledge is captured for future use.
Proven ability to effectively manage multiple work assignments, can maintain a high level of quality under tight schedules.
Experience with designing for reliability, manufacturability, and assembly (DFM, DFA, DFX, and DFMEA preferred).
Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
