About Our Client
My client is a well known Automotive Manufacturer that has several small production sites around Springfield, MA. The sites have grown to where they need to find a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to oversee 25 engineers across two sites. Because the position is brand new, they're looking for a strategic leader, coach, and mentor to guide them to success and allow them to grow even more!
Job Description
In this role you will report to the Director of Operations and be responsible for:
• Managing resources to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives, including budget controls and tooling implementation.
• Cultivating a teamwork-focused atmosphere emphasizing respect, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, collaborating with relevant departments for improvements.
• Maintaining on-time delivery for both internal and external customers.
• Recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating department staff while overseeing daily workflow.
• Assessing manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and feasibility, implementing recommendations for efficiency.
• Participating in Risk Management Program Operations for special processes.
• Meeting expense budgets and reducing controllable and non-controllable costs.
• Establishing and enforcing project schedules to meet deadlines effectively.
• Driving productivity improvements and supporting equipment maintenance plans.
• Promoting a culture of Continuous Improvement through training and communication.
• Ensuring compliance with factory rules, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
• Developing and mentoring teams to achieve results and nurture future leaders.
• Demonstrating leadership traits like determination, results-orientation, persuasion, and strong communication skills.
• Upholding personal accountability and responsibility standards.
• Managing individual and team projects with a working manager approach.
• Maintaining high ethical standards and complying with company policies, work rules, union agreements, and laws with minimal supervision.

The Successful Applicant
A successful candidate will have:
• 10+ years of hands on manufacturing experience
• 5+ years of engineering management experience
• High volume manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience coaching and mentoring
• Heat treatment, metal stamping, or grinding experience a plus
• Lean Manufacturing, project management, ISO, and IATF procedure knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Track record of leading teams to success
