Family Support Navigator

The Arc of Greater Haverhill-Newburyport is currently looking for a Part-Time Family Support Navigator for our Family Support Center. As our Family Support Navigator, you will collaborate directly with the Director of Family Support to provide navigation and resources to families in The Arc Service area.
You would also provide consultation and training to parents in accessing services and supports as well as provide detailed guidance addressing specific problems and key life transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide outreach to The Arc Service area by conducting educational webinars/seminars, facilitating support groups, and participating in community events for parents, professionals, and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Provide consultation around resources available to individuals and families such as DDS, MRC, Social Security, AFC, PCA - to name a few!

Manage and maintain information on consultations and referrals.

Track financial expenditures received and assist with reconciliation and reporting (i.e., flex funding, grants etc.)

Develop resources and expertise in the community to better support families and individuals.

Stay current on state and federal guidelines related to transitional and family support services and resources.

Navigate and support families with crisis management through community resources.

Collaborate with other team members and programs such as AFTER, Peer Support, AFC, DDS to develop activities or support the programs.

Participate in Family Support Center Advisory Council.

Participate in occasional night and weekend events as needed (i.e., webinars, resource fairs, events)

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree preferred or 3-5 years of equivalent work experience.

Strong communication skills, appreciative of a collaborative work environment, creative thinker.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Satisfactory background check and driving record.

Solid computer skills as we are a Microsoft 365 using office environment.
