We seek passionate & committed part-time Youth Tennis Coaches for beginner K-5th students in Oakland for the Fall season!

Make a positive difference in America's youth by coaching youth tennis after-school programs. No previous coaching experience is required - we train all coaches.

Do you love working with youth, teaching sports and wellness, and helping others improve? As a Youth Tennis Coach with ANTS (America's Next Talented Stars), you'll lead or assist a weekly after-school tennis program at one of our Oakland communities.
Our upcoming Fall season runs from August - December 2024 (must be available for the entire season). Time commitment is 1-10 hours per week, depending on how many classes you teach. Great coaches will be invited back to lead future sessions.

We provide all necessary training, equipment, and support. Being an ANTS Coach is a great way to learn to coach sports while serving our community. ANTS partner schools & communities are located across Oakland, Alameda, San Leandro, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek.
Classes will run at community parks, tennis courts, and elementary schools. Join our team!

Coach Responsibilities

ANTS partner schools & communities are located across Oakland, Alameda, San Leandro, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek. Classes will run at community parks, tennis courts, and elementary schools.

Schedule

Classes generally occur between 3 and 6 p.m. on the same day each week for a 10 to 14-week season. You must be available to coach in the afternoon on your program day (at least one day/week). Classes last for 1 to 1.5 hours. Some of our programs offer back-to-back classes for different age groups.

Enthusiastic & fun: ANTS coaches are positive role models for our students. We expect that you share our deep beliefs in the larger themes we are promoting: sportsmanship, wellness, and positivity.

Patience: Be a patient person who understands young children & their need to develop at their own pace.
Experience: Experience as a player or coach (at least two years) is highly valuable, though optional.

Background check: A successful candidate must pass a Federal and state Background Check and/or FBI Fingerprinting (Livescan) and test negative for TB test (within the last 4 years).
