Drivers are responsible for maintaining the daily route assignments given and transporting any people or product requests. They must perform pre-operative checks of their vehicle and communication devices and insure department management is kept aware of all pertinent information.

Responsibilities:

 •  Performs pre-operative system check and walks around the vehicle to check for hazards before operating the vehicle.
 •  Maintains adequate fluids levels during daily operations and fill fuel tank when necessary as a regular routine.
 •  Makes written report of the vehicle deficiencies when identified.
 •  Maintains vehicle interior in a clean manner and removes trash and other debris.
 •  Demonstrates the safe and appropriate use of the vehicles components.
 •  Operates the vehicle in a manner as to comply with all aspects of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Law.
 •  Appropriately parks and secures the vehicle when left unattended of parked for the night.
 •  Checks all communication devices prior to the start of the shift.
 •  Reports to dispatch when down time occurs.
 •  Provides appropriate communication to patients, visitors and staff where applicable. Maintains excellent customer service skills. Maintain the preservation of confidentiality and accuracy of all patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
 •  Promotes safety at all times. Reports any unsafe condition to Transportation Management.
 •  Assists with the orientation of newly hired personnel.
 •  Dept 3321332: Delivers films to referring physicians in a timely manner. Deliver bank deposits daily. Transport interoffice mail and medical supplies as needed. Keeps accurate records and logs of images delivered. Maintains accurate mileage logs and submits on a timely basis.
 •  Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
 •  Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications:

 •  High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
 •  Must be able to operate wheelchair lifts and tie downs.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

 •  Previous Transportation, MAVT experience is helpful.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

 •  Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
