About Our Client
I'm partnered with the CFO at a rapidly growing, multi-million dollar, highly acquisitive business within the architectural and construction space. My client is a local manufacturer on the North Side of the city and specializes in custom glass manufacturing.
This company has made the glass for many buildings you have seen around Chicago!
The company has nearly doubled in revenue in the last year! With that growth, the CFO is looking for a Controller to join the team to oversee the financial and accounting operations for 3 of the company's operating entities.
In this role, you will take full ownership of the accounting function for 3 entities, with the support of the CFO and existing team. As Controller, you will lead a high-potential team of Accountants through full cycle accounting including month-end close, financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory management, etc.
The team embodies a fun, collaborative culture and the owners really care about their employees and are looking for a Controller to fit in with that collaborative dynamic!
Job Description
• Lead the team in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant accounting standards.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems and methodologies to accurately track and analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead.
• Implement inventory control procedures to optimize inventory levels, minimize carrying costs, and maximize efficiency in production processes.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in financial reporting.
• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department.

The Successful Applicant
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Master's degree and CPA is a plus
• Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting
• Manufacturing industry is required!
• Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles is required!
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities, with a track record of building high-performing teams and driving results.
