Job Description

The Designer is responsible for:

 •  Provide value engineering when evaluating projects
 •  Optimize system layouts for cost-effective designs within project guidelines.
 •  Use the latest software for accurate heat load calculations.
 •  Maintain up-to-date software for efficient design and engineering
 •  Create a comprehensive set of plans and specifications for the project management team to use for construction.
 •  Communicate design and construction approaches to support the needs of designers, project management, and coordination staff in design-build projects.
 •  Establish rapport with supervisors, project teams, and decision-makers in purchasing, estimating, planning, construction, and business functions.
 •  Foster effective relationships with owners, architects, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.

The Successful Applicant

The right Designer will have:

 •  5-10+ years of HVAC or Plumbing Design experience
 •  Experience in Higher Education/Institutional, Lab/Lifescience, and Healthcare sectors.
 •  Experience working at a Mechanical or Engineering firm.
 •  Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit
 •  Show expertise in codes, industry standards, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
 •  Have an understanding of how projects are handled and offer support and ideas to increase profit on a given project.
 •  Have ability and personality to build rapport with clients

 •  Base salary up to $130K (Can flex higher for the right candidate)
