Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a skilled nursing facility in Ferriday, LA to find a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist (PT). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled PT to make a positive impact on the lives of patients by helping them regain functional mobility, improve strength and coordination, and achieve their highest level of independence.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for patients to assess their functional abilities, impairments, and goals.
Develop individualized treatment plans that address each patient's specific needs, focusing on restoring mobility, reducing pain, and improving overall well-being.
Utilize a variety of physical therapy techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and assistive devices.
Educate patients and their families on their conditions and provide them with self-care strategies to promote long-term success.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, physicians, occupational therapists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
Document progress in patients' medical records and participate in care conferences.
Maintain a safe and patient-centered treatment environment.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date on current physical therapy practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
Valid Physical Therapist License in the state of Louisiana.
Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience in a skilled nursing facility setting (preferred).
Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Ability to document effectively in medical records.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience treating patients with a variety of neurological and/or orthopedic conditions in a skilled nursing facility setting.
Knowledge of evidence-based physical therapy practices for geriatric populations.
Proficient in utilizing various therapeutic modalities.
Strong teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
