Marina Assistant General Manager

The Assistant General Manager is responsible for working in partnership with the marina management overseeing all marina operations and ensuring that all goals, objectives are met through planning, directing and managing the marina staff. In addition, the Assistant GM will ensure the marina is in full compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

 •  First line of customer service for incoming boats and support to guests and teammates to ensure they are having safe, fun, and rewarding experience.
 •  Maintain accurate dock walks, rent roll and occupancy reports
 •  Manage seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily care, safety, and administration for all marina facilities.
 •  Assist with direction and completion of general marina operational tasks, maintenance projects, and seasonal schedules to ensure the marina, and offices are effective, safe, and clean.
 •  Manage oversee boat preparation including cleaning, system checks, safety, launching, hauling, and moving.
 •  Maintain a professional relationship with all agencies, contractors, vendors, and customers;
 •  Assists in the training and development of teammates match required culture of marina.
 •  Assist with scheduling and direct daily activities and assign specific duties.
 •  Coordinates and helps to oversee implementation and maintenance of marketing programs for marina
 •  Ensures that boaters observe all marina rules and regulations
 •  Communicate with guests to remain aware of current and future guest needs and to recommend additional services.
 •  Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Required Education and Experience
 •  Bachelors Degree preferred or 7 years marina experience in lieu of degree
 •  Three (3) years previous marina experience, people management experience preferred
 •  Must have a solid understanding of marina operations.
 •  Experience in managing multiple projects at one time.
 •  General accounting knowledge and basic understanding of financial statements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 •  Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
 •  Must be able to swim
 •  CPR and First aid certified
 •  Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to field management teams
 •  Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluation situations and making decisions.
 •  General seamanship knowledge, boating right of ways rules, basic navigation, and inshore and offshore mooring techniques.
