Responsibilities:
• As a Summer 2024 IT Intern, you will contribute to CalAmp’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) infrastructure and its associated operation, administration, and management. This position will focus on supporting the Operations Engineers in all aspects of System and Server administration.
Responsibilities:
• Install, deploy, configure, test, monitor, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain web application infrastructure built on Linux, Java, MongoDB and PostgreSQL technologies in an AWS environment
• Help automate system creation and software deployment workflows for repeatability and reliability
• Assist in the management of secure replication, backup and archival of system data
• Assist in the creation of systems monitoring and recovery workflows for use by Tier 1 support
Qualifications:
• Must Haves
• Will be local to the area in Summer 2024 (Irvine / Orange County, California)
• Understanding and exposure to Computer Systems implementation/architecture
• Ability to problem-solve and use available resources to lean and debug problems
• Desire to learn new technology
Strong Pluses
• Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure concepts and Architecture
• Familiarity with AWS environment
• Understanding/familiarity of server, storage & network systems lifecycle administration; installation to decommissioning
• Understanding/familiarity of distributed systems and server infrastructure
• Understanding/familiarity of networking concepts & protocols (firewalls, routers, load balancers, wireshark)
• Understanding/familiarity with cellular networking concepts and infrastructure
• Understanding and exposure to Linux systems implementation (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE)
• Familiarity of Java applications server (Tomcat, JBoss, etc.) implementation & monitoring
• Experience with scripting/coding using Python or other languages
• Familiarity with scripting alerts and controls for system monitoring agents (AppDynamics, Zabbix, Splunk, Graylog, etc.)
• Experience with performance tuning of Web and Distributed Application
• Understanding/familiarity with Database Administration and Performance tuning
• Experience/familiarity with mission critical, realtime application support
