For over 30 years, the Boston Police department has been a committed leader in Community Policing initiatives. Through the core concepts of partnership, prevention and problem-solving, BPD has succeeded in both a lower crime rate and a lower arrest rate in the city.
Community policing starts with positive interactions on the streets and in school classrooms. It includes proactive prevention, and diversion for at risk youth and families, and also provides pathways away from violence for those who are ready to make a change.
BPD is working every day with our communities to strengthen and build up relationships. Prioritizing relationships with youth and the community is the key to solidifying trust in our neighborhoods.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

BPD is working every day with our communities to strengthen and build up relationships. Prioritizing relationships with youth and the community is the key to solidifying trust in our neighborhoods. In addition, the youth will explore the many different jobs offered in the police department such as the Boston Police Cadet Program, administrative, technical (Crime Scene Unit), 911 operations, Detectives, Gang Unit, Crossing Guards, etc., SWAT team and much more.,

The Ideal Candidate for this Job: Public Speaking whether at a Remote community meeting special

events or on Live Television Work positive around Police Officers ,Community , Youth and Younger Children Having the ability to engage inconversation and ask questions during meetings, workshops or presentations Accept the responsibility of Being A Peer Leader to help reduce youth violence and conflicts with others.
